The Parish Church
of
St. Helen Swinhope
THe small church of St. Helen Swinhope contains several interesting memorials to the Alington family who for many generations have been associated with the parish at the nearby Swinhope Hall or as Squire Parsons.
The building is chiefly thirteenth century with a small squat tower containing one bell. The interior consists of a nave, baptistry, and sanctuary.
In addition to the Alington family memorials there
is some interesting stained glass. The church is situated in a pleasant and peaceful
setting with a small brook running by the churchyard.
